Quantification of mixing in vesicle suspensions using numerical simulations in two dimensions [PDF]
We study mixing in Stokesian vesicle suspensions in two dimensions on a cylindrical Couette apparatus using numerical simulations. The vesicle flow simulation is done using a boundary integral method and the advection-diffusion equation for the mixing of the solute is solved using a pseudo-spectral scheme.

The specificity of vesicle traffic to the Golgi is encoded in the golgin coiled-coil proteins
Introduction The eukaryotic cell contains membrane-bound organelles with distinct functionality and composition. Preservation of organelle identity depends on the highly selective transfer of proteins and lipids between compartments.

Clinical significance of stratifying prostate cancer patients through specific circulating genes
We tested a specific panel of genes representative of luminal, neuroendocrine and stem‐like cells in the blood of prostate cancer patients, showing predictive value from diagnosis to late stages of disease. This approach allows monitoring of treatment responses and outcomes at specific time points in trajectories.

Thermodynamic Relaxation Drives Expulsion in Giant Unilamellar Vesicles [PDF]
We investigated the thermodynamic relaxation of giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs) which contained small vesicles within their interior. Quenching these vesicles from their fluid phase (T>Tm) through the phase transition in the gel state (T

Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.

Equatorial deformation of homogeneous spherical fluid vesicles by a rigid ring [PDF]
We examine the deformation of homogeneous spherical fluid vesicles along their equator by a circular rigid ring. We consider deformations preserving the axial and equatorial mirror symmetries of the vesicles. The configurations of the vesicle are determined employing the spontaneous curvature model subject to the constraints imposed by the ring as well

The roles and applications of extracellular vesicles in cancer
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are minute versions of cells limited by a lipid bilayer containing cytoplasm from the cell that releases them, but without a nucleus and thus unable to self‐reproduce. EVs contain multiple molecules (proteins, lipids, glycans, and nucleic acids) they can induce complex responses in cells.

We study the effect of the molecular architecture of amphiphilic star polymers on the shape of aggregates they form in water. Both solute and solvent are considered at a coarse-grained level by means of dissipative particle dynamics simulations.
