Retinal vessel oxygen saturation and vessel diameter in retinitis pigmentosa [PDF]
AbstractPurposeTo assess retinal vessel oxygen saturation and retinal vessel diameter in retinitis pigmentosa.MethodsA retinal oximeter (Oxymap ehf., Reykjavik, Iceland) was used to measure retinal vessel oxygen saturation and vessel diameter in ten patients with retinitis pigmentosa (RP) (mean age 49 years, range 23–71 years).

Xylem vessel type and structure influence the water transport characteristics of Panax notoginseng.
Panax notoginseng plays a very important role in medicinal and economic value. The restriction imposed by the hydraulic pathway is considered to be the main limitation on the optimal growth state of Panax notoginseng.

Genetic Regulation of Vessel Morphology in Populus
During secondary growth, forest trees can modify the anatomy of the wood produced by the vascular cambium in response to environmental conditions. Notably, the trees of the model angiosperm genus, Populus, reduce the risk of cavitation and hydraulic ...

Retinal Blood Vessel Analysis Using Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) in Multiple Sclerosis
Background: Both greater retinal neurodegenerative pathology and greater cardiovascular burden are seen in people with multiple sclerosis (pwMS). Studies also describe multiple extracranial and intracranial vascular changes in pwMS.

Vessel diameter–stem diameter scaling across woody angiosperms and the ecological causes of xylem vessel diameter variation [PDF]
Summary Variation in angiosperm vessel diameter is of major functional significance. In the light of recent models predicting optimal vessel taper given resistance imposed by conductive path length, we tested the prediction that plant size should predict vessel diameter, with dryland plants having narrower vessels for their stem sizes.

Variability of Measurement of Retinal Vessel Diameters [PDF]
To examine the effects of various cardiovascular, ocular, and lifestyle factors on retinal vessel diameters over short periods of time.Subjects were invited to have photographs of their retina taken at each of three study visits. The same eye was photographed each time.
