Vessel Velocity Estimation and Tracking From Doppler Echoes of T/R-R Composite Compact HFSWR

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2021
Vessel speed and heading are two important kinematic parameters describing its state of motion. However, due to low spatial resolution of a compact high-frequency surface wave radar (HFSWR), vessel speed and heading cannot always be accurately estimated.

Adaptive Backstepping Tracking Control for an over–Actuated DP Marine Vessel with Inertia Uncertainties

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, 2018
Designing a tracking control system for an over-actuated dynamic positioning marine vessel in the case of insufficient information on environmental disturbances, hydrodynamic damping, Coriolis forces and vessel inertia characteristics is considered.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

DDX3X induces mesenchymal transition of endothelial cells by disrupting BMPR2 signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Elevated DDX3X expression led to downregulation of BMPR2, a key regulator of endothelial homeostasis and function. Our co‐immunoprecipitation assays further demonstrated a molecular interaction between DDX3X and BMPR2. Notably, DDX3X promoted lysosomal degradation of BMPR2, thereby impairing its downstream signaling and facilitating endothelial‐to ...

Cross-sectional compliance overestimates arterial compliance because it neglects the axial strain. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
A high resolution echo-tracking system permits the calculation of cross-sectional compliance considering vessel diameter variations alone, and assumes that longitudinal movement of the vessel wall due to pulse pressure is negligible.

KLK7 overexpression promotes an aggressive phenotype and facilitates peritoneal dissemination in colorectal cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KLK7, a tissue kallikrein‐related peptidase, is elevated in advanced colorectal cancer and associated with shorter survival. High KLK7 levels in ascites correlate with peritoneal metastasis. In mice, KLK7 overexpression increases metastasis. In vitro, KLK7 enhances cancer cell proliferation, migration, adhesion, and spheroid formation, driving ...
