Assessment of comfort index (CI) based on vibration characteristics in CNG control system development

open access: yesResults in Engineering
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is an environmentally friendly alternative fuel that is affordable with high octane value. Although numerous preliminary studies have been developed about CNG, none examines engine vibrations on human body comfort.

Experimental study of controlling tip clearance flow in a pump-jet propulsor

open access: yesZhongguo Jianchuan Yanjiu, 2023
ObjectiveThis paper aims to suppress the adverse effects of tip clearance flow on the hydrodynamic performance and unsteady excitation force of a pump-jet propulsor. MethodAs for the pre-swirl stator pump-jet propulsor, an annular flexible seal structure

Vibrational characteristics of Balinese gamelan metallophones [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2010
A study of the eight metallophone pairs from a Balinese gamelan semara dana has been conducted. Acoustical recordings of metallophone bars being struck were used to examine ratios of overtone frequencies to the fundamental. Results showed large variability in the number and ratios of overtones present.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Magnetostrictive Vibration Characteristics of Amorphous Alloy Transformer With Three-Dimensional Wound Core

open access: yesIEEE Access
The amorphous alloy transformer with three-dimensional wound core (TDWC) is a new type of transformer structure. Compared with the traditional three-phase five-column transformer with planar wound core (PWC), the TDWC structure exhibits a fully ...

Characteristics of Tool Vibration in Ultrasonic Vibration Cutting

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Society of Precision Engineering, 1979
Characteristics of vibration has been analyzed with a model of lumped system for a tool used in ultrasonic vibration cutting. The analysis shows that the amplitude of the tool vibration during cutting declines not always constantly but catastrophically with increase of cutting force at some conditions because of existing unstable phenomena in the ...

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...
