TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

Flow-induced vibration analysis in a pump-turbine runner under transient operating conditions
The dynamic characteristics of the pumped storage unit (pump-turbine runner) make it highly susceptible to vibrations. Previous studies seldom addressed the clearance variation due to runner vibration, largely because of two challenges: the integration ...

ABSTRACT Objective To characterize the demographic, clinical, and laboratory features of the Chinese patients of genetic Creutzfeldt‐Jakob disease with T188K variant (T188K‐gCJD), the most common subtype of genetic prion diseases (gPrDs) in China. Methods In this nationwide retrospective study, data from 98 genetically confirmed T188K‐gCJD patients ...

Effect of vibration exposure duration on discomfort [PDF]
The comfort of a seated person exposed to vibration is known to depend on the magnitude, frequency content, and direction of the excitation. A review of the literature showed that very little is known about the effects of the duration of exposure to ...

Model and Method of Fault Signal Diagnosis for Blockage and Slippage of Rice Threshing Drum
Rice threshing drum of combine harvester is difficult to monitor and repair the abnormal state in time. When slippage or blockage occurs in the threshing drum, the working efficiency of the threshing drum will reduce seriously, such as the threshing ...

A 17 Year Old With Developmental Delay Presenting With Increasing Confusion and Imbalance
ABSTRACT Methylmalonic acidemia is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder primarily caused by defects in methylmalonyl‐CoA mutase and cobalamin (vitamin B12) metabolism. These defects disrupt the tricarboxylic acid cycle and oxidative phosphorylation, leading to the abnormal accumulation of metabolic products such as methylmalonic acid, propionic acid,

Long‐Term Neurologic Exam Findings in People Diagnosed and Treated During Acute HIV Infection
ABSTRACT Objective Evaluate clinical and laboratory correlates of abnormal neurologic exam findings after acute HIV infection (AHI). Methods Participants from the RV254/SEARCH 010 cohort in Bangkok underwent standardized neurologic examinations at Weeks 0 (AHI), 12, 96, and 288 following antiretroviral therapy (ART).
