Vibration of a rigid body on an elastic half-plane

Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 1980
Abstract An analytic-numerical method for the analysis of a dynamically loaded rigid body supported on an elastic half-plane is presented. Two cases are considered: (1) vertical and rocking vibrations of a rigid body in smooth contact with the surface of the half-space, and (2) vertical, horizontal and rocking vibrations of a rigid body in rough ...

On the theory of vibrations of elastic bodies with liquid cavities

Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, 1959
Abstract One encounters various problems in modern technology that require the study of simultaneous vibrations of an elastic body and a liquid. The study of this problem in its general statement is complex. This paper presents an approximate theory that is based on the following simplifying assumptions: 1.

Sliding-Rocking Vibration of Body on Elastic Medium

Journal of the Soil Mechanics and Foundations Division, 1971
The dynamic response in coupled horizontal translation and rocking rotation of a rigid mass with circular base attached to the top of a homogeneous, isotropic, linearly elastic half-space medium is investigated analytically when the mass is excited harmonically by a horizontal force anywhere on the vertical axis of symmetry.

THERMALLY INDUCED VIBRATIONS IN AN ELASTIC BODY WITH A SPHERICAL CAVITY

Journal of Thermal Stresses, 1987
An elastic heat-conducting body with a cavity can be set in vibration if the temperature of the cavity varies cyclically with time. A simple closed solution can be derived if the geometry is spherical and if the temperature oscillates harmonically. The amplitude of the stresses increases with increasing inertia.

Vibrations of an Elastic Body Containing Fluid Masses

1968
We have already shown that the motion of an elastic body with cavities partially filled with an ideal fluid can be described by a system of twelfth-order, integro-differential equations. Also, an approximate method was introduced which can be used to perform all the calculations needed for constructing these equations of motion. Thus, we proceed to the
