Vibrio Parahaemolyticus Endophthalmitis
Journal of Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus, 1980A healthy child developed V. parahaemolyticus endophthalmitis after receiving a perforating corneal injury while swimming in the Gulf of Mexico. Peculiar greenish anterior chamber and vitreous exudates were a striking feature of the infection. A history of ocular injury in a salt water environment should alert the clinician to the possibility of ...

Vibrio Parahaemolyticus and Related Halophilic Vibrios
CRC Critical Reviews in Microbiology, 1982Approximately 30 years have elapsed since Dr. Fujino's original discovery that Vibrio parahaemolyticus (then termed Pasteurella parahemolytica) was the cause of "summer diarrhea" in Japan. Since that finding, V. parahaemolyticus has been established as a cause of gastroenteritis in numbers and places approaching global proportions. It has been isolated

Vibrio Parahaemolyticus in the Republic of Korea
The American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, 1974Abstract The distribution of Vibrio parahaemolyticus in Korea was studied. Isolation rates were high in sea mud (37.2%), followed by shellfish, fish, and sea water in decreasing order. The rise of the level of this organism in marine environments coincided with the rise of water temperature.

Vibrio parahaemolyticus and Vibrio cholerae
Letters in Food ResearchThis review aimed to provide insights on Vibrio parahaemolyticus and Vibrio cholerae. The review focused on the current scenario of V. parahaemolyticus and V. cholerae in Malaysia, strains characterisation and their foodborne outbreaks. The isolation and identification procedures will be reviewed as well to discuss emerging detection methods.

Studies on Vibrio parahaemolyticus in Bombay
1975Food-poisoning is a prehistoric malady and innumerable out-breaks occur even in modern times, but the causative organisms often elude microbiologists. Much attention has been focussed recently on V. parahaemolyticus since reports have poured out from Japan where V.

Induction of swarming in Vibrio parahaemolyticus
Archives of Microbiology, 1974Vibrio parahaemolyticus, the flagellated nonswarming marine bacteria were induced to swarm on solid media under three different conditions: growth at 20–26°C on medium containing 1% NaCl, growth on a medium in a sealed Petridish and growth on H2O2-treated medium. The morphological transformations observed in cells during swarming of V. parahaemolyticus

VIBRIO PARAHAEMOLYTICUS–A REVIEW1
Journal of Milk and Food Technology, 1971This review presents current information on the taxonomic position, biochemical characteristics, distribution, isolation and identification procedures, pathogenicity, and serology of Vibrio parahaemolyticus. In the past, V. parahaemolyticus was associated primarily with outbreaks of gastroenteritis in Japan caused by consumption of seafoods and other ...

Vibrio cholerae, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, and Vibrio vulnificus
2018Although cholera is considered an old-world disease, it continues to be a serious problem in developing and economically impoverished countries. The infections caused by other vibrios are also increasing worldwide especially in developed countries and are increasingly being recognized as emerging diseases.
