The effect of diepoxybutane on chromosomes of Vicia faba

Molecular and General Genetics MGG, 1967
The frequency of aberrations induced by DEB depends on the temperature and concentration of the agent. The effect of DEB is delayed. Pretreatment with EDTA increased the frequency of aberrations. The frequency of aberrations was also increased after simultaneous treatment with DEB and chloramphenicol or streptomycin. Pre- and posttreatment with protein

Faba Bean (Vicia faba L.) Breeding

2019
Faba bean (Vicia faba L.) is an important cool season legume grown widely in the world due to its palatability as well as its ecological and environmental value in sustainable agriculture and cropping system. As its protein content is higher than other common food legumes, it is mainly harvested in the form of dry seeds for human food and for animal ...

Galactokinase of Vicia faba seeds

European Journal of Biochemistry, 1983
Galactokinase (EC 2.7.1.6) from the dormant seeds of Vicia faba was purified approximately 1300‐fold with an 18% recovery through an eight‐step procedure. The preparation showed the presence of only minor contaminations as judged by disc‐gel electrophoresis.

RNA synthesis in roots of Vicia faba

Experimental Cell Research, 1964
Abstract Roots of V. faba were grown in solutions of 3 H-cytidine and 3 H-uridine, RNA precursors, for 30 min, 1 hr or 2 hr. Grain counts were made over nuclei and cytoplasm in squash preparations. By means of these counts, synthesis of RNA was followed in interphase and dividing cells. Results indicate that: 1. 1.

Glutamine synthetase in the chloroplasts of Vicia faba

Planta, 1973
A glutamine synthetase has been localised in the chloroplasts of Vicia faba. The enzyme has requirements for Mg(2+) and ATP in the biosynthetic reaction and in addition will catalyse a γ-glutamyl transferase reaction in the presence of Mn(2+) and arsenate. The enzyme is inhibited by AMP, CTP, glycine and alanine. These results are discussed in relation

???????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????? ???????? Vicia faba L. ?? ???????????????? ????????????????

2014
The seed productivity of the two newly-introduced into Donbass vegetable forms of legumes having high potential and a relatively good real productivity of fruitage and seedage under the conditions of the insufficient water-supply has been studied. The lowest and the middle sections of the generative sphere formed at the IV???V stages of organogenesis ...
