A regulatory axis involving APE1, AUF1, and miR‐221 is proposed. Pri‐miR‐221 is processed by DROSHA and DICER to generate mature miR‐221, which targets p27Kip1 mRNA. APE1 and AUF1 compete for pre‐miR‐221 binding. Reduced APE1/AUF1 levels impair miR‐221 biogenesis, decrease p27Kip1 mRNA degradation, and promote cell cycle progression, chemoresistance ...

Unit Root in Unemployment - New Evidence from Nonparametric Tests [PDF]
We apply range unit-root tests to OECD unemployment rates and compare the results to conventional tests. By simulations, we nd that unemployment is represented adequately by a new nonlinear transformation of a serially-correlated I(1) process.

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Why the US and not Brazil? Old Elites and the Development of a Modern Economy [PDF]
Old elites can block changes, but not all do. Why is it that stronger elites may allow more changes than weaker elites? Why do economies with larger stocks of natural resources not grow faster than economies poorer in natural resources? We argue that old

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

How Demand Information Can Destabilize a Cartel [PDF]
This paper studies a symmetric Bertrand duopoly with imperfect mon- itoring where rms receive noisy public signals about the state of demand. These signals have two opposite eects on the incentive to collude: avoid- ing punishment after a low-demand ...

ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Modulating satiety with neuro-music: a frequency-specific acoustic approach to appetite control
IntroductionGlobal obesity rates are rising, necessitating innovative interventions for appetite control. This study investigated whether subjective satiety—referred to as “hunger stress”—can be modulated using frequency-specific acoustic stimulation ...

Spatial Competition, Sequential Entry, and Technology choice [PDF]
This article introduces technology choice into a Hotelling model of spatial competition. This yields two entry deterrence devices, as well as complex strategic choices for the firms and a rich of industry structure.
