Reducing copper inputs through integration of essential oil‐based formulations: laboratory and 2‐year vineyard evaluation against Plasmopara viticola

Combining an essential oil (EO)‐based formulation with copper effectively controls Plasmopara viticola. Field trials showed a 92–99% protection with lower copper inputs, achieving a 45% copper reduction without compromising efficacy. This approach supports EO‐based products as sustainable alternatives for grapevine downy mildew management.

Presence and abundance of airborne Botryosphaeriaceae conidia are governed by temperature and season in the Okanagan Valley, Canada

Presence and abundance of Botryosphaeria dieback inoculum were determined using spore trapping and droplet digital polymerase chain reaction in British Columbia, Canada. Highest inoculum was recorded in spring (April–June) and again in summer (July–September). These results suggest early pruning in December–January can mitigate pruning wound infections.

How Passive Acoustic and Traditional Monitoring Estimate Bird Diversity Across Habitats

We compared traditional bird counts (PC) with passive acoustic monitoring (PAM) in a heterogeneous Alpine landscape. PAM recorded twice as many species, with a strong correlation between species richness and the bird counts (rs = 0.71); however, there were significant differences depending on habitat type.
