Synthesis of Tacaribe viral proteins
Virology, 1979Abstract The synthesis of Tacaribe virus-specific proteins in infected BHK-21 cells has been analyzed by polyacrylamide slab gel electrophoresis and fluorography. The two major structural polypeptides of the virion were observed above the host cell background by pulse labeling with amino acid or sugar precursors.

Viral and Non-Viral Approaches for Transient Delivery of mRNA and Proteins
Current Gene Therapy, 2011The transient delivery of gene products (RNA or proteins) is not a biotechnological invention but rather an evolutionarily conserved process underlying and regulating a variety of biological functions. On the basis of insights into the underlying mechanisms, several viral and cell-based approaches have been developed for the delivery of RNA or proteins.

Intercellular Transport of Viral Proteins
Viruses are vehicles to exchange genetic information and proteins between cells and organisms by infecting their target cells either cell-free, or depending on cell-cell contacts. Several viruses like certain retroviruses or herpesviruses transmit by both mechanisms.Florian, Simon, Andrea K, Thoma-Kress

The Viral Tyrosine Protein Kinases
1986The acutely transforming retroviruses have revealed the existence of more than twenty different genes with oncogenic potential. Seven of these — src, abl, yes, erbB, fps (fes), fgr, fms, and ros — encode proteins with intrinsic tyrosine protein kinase activity.

Veterinary Microbiology
Virus-host interactions are crucial for regulating viral replication. While some interactions can suppress viral spread, others may promote it, and their underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. Here, we report that infection with bovine herpesvirus 1 (BoHV-1) or bovine ephemeral fever virus (BEFV) upregulates the transcriptional expression of ...

Synthesis of viral proteins by the avian myeloblastosis viral core component
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Nucleic Acids and Protein Synthesis, 1975Avian Myeloblastosis Viral (AMV) core component was isolated and shown to synthesize AMV proteins in vitro. This reaction was linearly dependent on viral core concentration, proceeded linearly with time, and was inhibited by puromycin and aurintricarboxylic acid.

Vaccination with Purified Viral Proteins
1972Inactivated viral vaccines currently in use consist, in most cases, of rather impure suspensions of virus particles and soluble antigens. It has been demonstrated that not all antigens of a given virus are required to induce antibody responses leading to protection.

Cancer immunotherapy is a rapidly evolving field and the search for appropriate targets to come up with robust immunotherapeutic strategies for the treatment of cancers is a continuous process. Viral-like proteins are known to have an important role in the oncogenesis and their potential as cancer therapeutic targets is yet to be completely explored ...
