Computational methods for the analysis of next generation viral sequences [PDF]

open access: possible, 2016
Recent advances in sequencing technologies have brought a renewed impetus to the development of bioinformatics tools necessary for sequence processing and analysis. Along with the constant requirement to be able to assemble more complex genomes from ever evolving sequencing experiments and technologies there also exists a lack in visually accessible ...

Analysis of ras genes and linked viral sequences in rat hepatocarcinogenesis.

The American journal of pathology, 1987
After long-term feeding of a choline-devoid diet to rats, the authors analyzed rasK, rasH, and rasN transcripts and gene structure in livers and liver tumors. They controlled their analysis by studying cell lines derived from chemically induced hepatomas.

[Hybridization analysis of the viral sequences in the DNA of a hamster Rous sarcoma].

Voprosy onkologii, 1979
The nuclear genome of Syrian hamster virrion non-producer tumor contains the Rous sarcoma virus-specific nucleotide sequences. The information complexity of the proviral DNA from its tumor is similar to that for the DNA of Rous chicken sarcoma. The proviral DNA both in the hamster and chicken tumor consists of moderately reiterated and unique sequences.

Alignment-Independent Sequence Analysis Based on Interval Distribution: Application to Subtyping and Classification of Viral Sequences

2017
Viral sequence classification has widespread applications in structural and functional categorization, clinical and epidemiological studies. Most approaches of subtyping and classification depends on an initial alignment step to asses similarity score followed by distance-based phylogenetic or statistical algorithms.

A method for the analysis of African swine fever by viral metagenomic sequencing

In 2018, there was an outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) in China, which spread to other provinces in the following three years, severely damaging China’s pig industry. ASF is caused by the African swine fever virus (ASFV). Given that the genome of the African swine fever virus is very complex and whole genome information is currently inadequate, it
