We used an administrative claims dataset to evaluate the relationship between hepatitis B virus (HBV) low‐level viraemia and subsequent liver‐related outcomes in patients with chronic HBV. We found that individuals with HBV low‐level viraemia have an increased risk for liver‐related events (i.e., cirrhosis, decompensation, and hepatocellular carcinoma)

Residual Viremia in Treated HIV+ Individuals
Antiretroviral therapy (ART) effectively controls HIV infection, suppressing HIV viral loads. However, some residual virus remains, below the level of detection, in HIV-infected patients on ART. The source of this viremia is an area of debate: does it derive primarily from activation of infected cells in the latent reservoir, or from ongoing viral ...

Bulevirtide increases bile acid levels in most patients; however, changes in bile acids do not predict virological response or adverse events, nor do they reflect treatment adherence. After discontinuation of bulevirtide, bile acid levels rapidly decline.

High prevalence of anelloviruses in vitreous fluid of children with seasonal hyperacute panuveitis. [PDF]
Seasonal hyperacute panuveitis (SHAPU) is a potentially blinding ocular disease occurring in Nepal that principally affects young children. Random amplification of partially purified vitreous fluid (VF)-derived nucleic acid revealed the presence of human

Summary Allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is a curative therapy for severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID). Conditioning improves donor engraftment and freedom from immunoglobulin replacement (IgR) but increases the risks of acute and late toxicity. Treosulfan, a reduced toxicity alkylating agent, has emerged as an alternative

Vesivirus viremia and seroprevalence in humans [PDF]
Pathogenic caliciviruses of the genus Vesivirus circulate in oceanic ecosystems and spread to and among terrestrial mammals. Isolation of Vesivirus from natural and laboratory infections in humans led to this investigation of Vesivirus seroprevalence and viremia.
