On particle scattering in Gross-Pitaevskii theory and implications for dark matter halos
Bose-Einstein-condensed dark matter (BEC-DM), also called scalar field dark matter (SFDM), has become a popular alternative to the standard, collisionless cold dark matter (CDM) model, due to its long-held potential to resolve the small-scale crisis of ...

Functional Chain Engineering in MOFs: Balancing Pore Size and Affinity for Noble Gas Separation
A series of mixed‐ligand metal‐organic frameworks (ML‐xC8) were synthesized by systematically incorporating C8 alkoxy substituents (C8BDC) into the IRMOF‐1 framework. As the C8BDC content increased, the pore size progressively decreased. ML‐80C8 (80% C8BDC) provided the optimal pore environment for selective Xe adsorption, exhibiting a markedly ...

On the evolution of a stellar system in the context of the virial equation
The virial equation is used to clarify the nature of the dynamic evolution of a stellar system. Compared to the kinetic equation, it gives a deeper but incomplete description of the process of relaxation to a quasi-stationary state, which here means the ...

On the equivalence between the energy and virial routes to the equation of state of hard-sphere fluids [PDF]

Trapping a Metastable Node in an Amorphous Metal–Organic Framework
Frustrated assembly in an amorphous Fe‐BDC framework is shown to trap a distorted, metastable Fe3O node as the dominant local motif. X‐ray PDF analysis and DFT calculations reveal that rapid network percolation outpaces node relaxation, locking in a high‐energy puckered geometry.

A simple strategy is proposed to convert food waste such as dry bread into highly porous carbons that can be used for catalysis and adsorption‐related applications. Namely, a fast ball milling of dry bread and a mild activation agent, followed by carbonization at 800°C, is used to obtain porous carbons with surface areas up to 2400 m2/g.

Jednadžbe stanja realnih plinova [PDF]
The properties of classical real gases, especially their deviations from ideal behaviour, are reviewed. After a brief overview of molecular interactions, the so-called traditional ('primitive') model is presented and shown to be applicable not only to ...

Daniel Berthelot Part I. Contribution to thermodynamics
Daniel Berthelot (1865-1927) did fundamental research on the conductivity of electrolyte solutions, thermodynamics, pyrometry, and photochemistry. In thermodynamics he proved that the limiting density of gases can be used to determine their atomic and ...
