Methodological Frameworks for Computational Electrocatalysis: From Theory to Practice

open access: yesSmall Methods, Volume 10, Issue 5, 9 March 2026.
Computational modeling is widely used to investigate electrocatalytic reactions, yet accurately describing electrochemical interfaces remains challenging. This review outlines theoretical and computational strategies, based on density functional theory, to model reaction thermodynamics, solvation effects, applied bias, and kinetics.

Experimental Study of PVTx Properties about Mixture Refrigerant R1234yf/R32

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2016
In order to get the thermophysical properties of mixed refrigerants R1234yf/R134a, the PVT properties of mixture refrigerant R1234yf/R32 with mass fraction 15%/85%, 25%/75% in the range of 253-313 K were measured by using high-precision PVTx apparatus ...

The classical equation of state of fully ionized plasmas

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2011
The aim of this paper is to calculate the analytical form of the equation of state until the third virial coefficient of a classical system interacting via an effective potential of fully Ionized Plasmas. The excess osmotic pressure is represented in the

Electron and nuclear pressures in electron-nucleus mixtures

open access: yes, 2007
It is shown for an electron-nucleus mixture that the electron and nuclear pressures are defined clearly and simply by the virial theorem; the total pressure of this system is a sum of these two pressures.

The virialized mass of dark matter haloes

open access: yes, 2008
(Abridged) Virial mass is used as an estimator for the mass of a dark matter halo. However, the commonly used constant overdensity criterion does not reflect the dynamical structure of haloes. Here we analyze dark matter cosmological simulations in order

On the Virial Equation for Gases and Vapours [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1891
ALTHOUGH I had, some time ago, written to Lord Rayleigh to the effect that I did not intend to prolong the discussion of this question, it may perhaps be expected that I should say a few words with reference to Prof. Korteweg's paper in the last issue of NATURE.

Local virial relation and velocity anisotropy for collisionless self-gravitating systems

open access: yes, 2005
The collisionless quasi-equilibrium state realized after the cold collapse of self-gravitating systems has two remarkable characters. One of them is the linear temperature-mass (TM) relation, which yields a characteristic non-Gaussian velocity ...

Virial Coefficients of Multispecies Anyons

open access: yes, 2004
A path integral formalism for multispecies anyons is introduced, whereby partition functions are expressed in terms of generating functions of winding number probability distributions.

Nuclear and hadron matter equation of state within the induced surface tension approach

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
We present a novel equation of state which is based on the virial expansion for the multicomponent mixtures with hard core repulsion. The suggested equation of state explicitly contains the surface tension which is induced by particle interaction.

Thermodynamic modeling and correlations of CH4, C2H6, CO2, H2S, and N2 hydrates with cage occupancies

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology, 2020
The present work focuses on developing a framework for accurate prediction of thermodynamic conditions for single-component hydrates, namely CH4, CO2, N2, H2S, and C2H6 (coded in MATLAB).
