Virial coefficients of the Uniform Electron Gas from Path Integral Monte Carlo Simulations

open access: yes, 2023
The properties of plasmas in the low-density limit are described by virial expansions. Analytical expressions are known from Green's function approaches only for the first three virial coefficients.

Surrounding matter theory

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
S.M.T. (Surrounding Matter Theory), an alternative theory to dark matter, is presented. It is based on a modification of Newton's law. This modification is done by multiplying a Newtonian potential by a given factor, which is varying with local ...

A virial expansion for discrete charges buried in a membrane

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, 1978
Recent experiments (1,2) have shown that hydrophobic ions adsorbed to lipid membranes repel each other significantly at densities as low as one charge every few tens of square nanometers. This paper shows how to calculate the mutual repulsion of a population of such ions, assumed to be discrete but free to diffuse laterally in the plane of the membrane.

Accelerated expansion and the virial theorem

open access: yes, 2012
When dark matter structures form and equilibrate they have to release a significant amount of energy in order to obey the virial theorem. Since dark matter is believed to be unable to radiate, this implies that some of the accreted dark matter particles must be ejected with high velocities.

On the coefficients of the virial expansion of the state equation of an imperfect gas

open access: yes, 2008
After the review on the virial expansion of an imperfect gas, several combinatorial relations among the coefficients of the virial expansion are discussed長崎大学教育学部紀要.

Self-consistent approximation and fifth virial coefficients

open access: yes, 1972
The self-consistent approximation of Rushbrooke and Hutchinson is extended so as to give consistent virial coefficients to any order by expanding the parameter Φ in terms of density, namely φ(p.T) :∗sum∞l-4; φi(T)pl-4 By using ...

Can cubic equations of state be recast in the virial form?

open access: yes, 2009
International audiencen this paper, we propose a mathematical study of the virial expansion of cubic equations of state. We attempt to provide an answer to the following questions: - Is the virial equation only appropriate for the description of gases at

Virial Expansion Providing of the Linearity for a Unit Compressibility Factor

open access: yes, 2016
We show that the law of linearity for a unit compressibility factor testifying a lot of experimental data for many substances can be provided by appropriate procedure following from the rigorous consequences of statistical mechanics, namely, the virial ...
