PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 2, Page 447-463, February 2026.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

A Proposed Circular Economy Readiness Framework for the Rail Sector, A Literature Review and Conceptual Framework

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, Volume 35, Issue 1, Page 1076-1096, January 2026.
ABSTRACT The circular economy (CE) offers a transformative approach to addressing global sustainability challenges, yet few frameworks integrate it with business strategy, systems thinking (ST) and asset management (AM), especially within critical infrastructure sectors like rail. This paper conducts a comprehensive literature review to assess existing

Predictive Correction Model for Corneal Back Surface Astigmatism With IOLMaster700 Keratometry Data in a Cataractous Population

open access: yesClinical &Experimental Ophthalmology, Volume 54, Issue 1, Page 21-32, January/February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background To develop and validate various models to predict total keratometry (TK) power vector components TKC0 and TKC45 from classical keratometry (K) KC0 and KC45 based on a large dataset of pre cataract surgery IOLMaster 700 measurements.

Development and Validation of a Rapid and Sensitive Lateral Flow Immunoassay for the Detection of SARS‐CoV‐2

open access: yesAdvances in Virology, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
The COVID‐19 pandemic caused by SARS‐CoV‐2 has highlighted the need for rapid, cost‐effective, and reliable, locally produced diagnostic tools to respond to, manage, and mitigate the disease or future infectious diseases. This paper reports the development and validation of an antigen‐based lateral flow immunoassay (LFA) for the detection of the SARS ...

Microbiota-dependent metabolite and cardiovascular disease marker trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO) is associated with monocyte activation but not platelet function in untreated HIV infection

open access: yesBMC Infectious Diseases, 2017
Background HIV infection is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease beyond that explained by traditional risk factors. Altered gut microbiota, microbial translocation, and immune activation have been proposed as potential triggers.

Turaev–Viro invariant and 3nj symbols [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2000
We propose in this work a new method to construct the Turaev–Viro state sums, using a diagrammatic presentation describing surgery operation as Heegaard splittings. The resulting invariants can be connected with suitable 3nj symbols, and we evaluate them for the lens spaces.

An Evolutionarily Conserved Pathway Essential for Orsay Virus Infection of Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesmBio, 2017
Many fundamental biological discoveries have been made in Caenorhabditis elegans. The discovery of Orsay virus has enabled studies of host-virus interactions in this model organism. To identify host factors critical for Orsay virus infection, we designed
