Safety and Efficacy of Adoptive Transfer of Stem Cell Memory Enriched Virus Specific T Cells against CMV and EBV

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study finds that CD8⁺ TSCM cells exhibit superior self‐renewal, differentiation, and antiviral activity. Transcriptome and epigenome analyses highlight MAPK cascade regulation in TSCM cells. In vivo, virus‐specific TSCM cells show enhanced persistence and tumor protection.

Modelling the structure of full-length Epstein-Barr virus nuclear antigen 1 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a clinically important human virus associated with several cancers and is the etiologic agent of infectious mononucleosis. The viral nuclear antigen-1 (EBNA1) is central to the replication and propagation of the viral genome

Phosphorylation of TGB1 by protein kinase CK2 promotes barley stripe mosaic virus movement in monocots and dicots. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The barley stripe mosaic virus (BSMV) triple gene block 1 (TGB1) protein is required for virus cell-to-cell movement. However, little information is available about how these activities are regulated by post-translational modifications. In this study, we

RNAi Regulator C3PO Promotes Arbovirus Infection in Insect Vectors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RNA interference (RNAi) is vital for eukaryotes to defend against virus infection. The C3PO complex takes part in RNAi but its role in regulating viral infection remains unclear. This work finds that insect C3PO facilitates arbovirus replication by degrading precursors of miRNAs, especially miR‐971‐3p.

Genome‐Wide Codon Reprogramming Enables a Multifactorially Attenuated Influenza Vaccine with Broad Cross‐Protection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Genome‐wide codon reprogramming of influenza A virus introduces 1956 synonymous mutations across five segments and elevates CpG content, causing defective NA packaging, loss of NS1 accumulation, and enhanced ZAP‐mediated antiviral responses without affecting RNA or protein synthesis. These mechanisms result in profound attenuation and potent homologous

Development survey of neurovirology

open access: yesChinese Journal of Contemporary Neurology and Neurosurgery, 2014
As a new subdiscipline, neurovirology derives from medical virology and neurology. Its research field includes both clinical practice of viral infectious diseases of the nervous system and fundamental research of medical virology.
