Bioengineered Interfaces for Peripheral Nerve Sensory Restoration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Half of amputees abandon their prosthetics for lack of feeling. This review charts the full path from peripheral nerve injury to restored sensation, through surgical, regenerative, noninvasive, and implanted approaches, and shows how injury type and interface material properties determine which strategy can deliver naturalistic feedback, and why ...

Traffic architecture motivated Learning Object organisation in a virtual environment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Media and Communication, 2008
This paper introduces a structuring method applied to a collection of searched Learning Objects (LOs). Firstly, frequencies of the search keywords are calculated. Then the LOs are grouped under the most ranked keywords. The ranked keywords are taken further into consideration for finding semantic relation metrics that allow us to present the groups ...

Descriptors to Dynamics: A Materials and Device Perspective on in‐Materio Physical Reservoir Computing for Neuromorphic Edge Intelligence

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Intrinsic material dynamics are harnessed as computational resources for neuromorphic in‐materio physical reservoir computing. Defects, ionic motion, interfaces, percolation, geometry, and biasing shape transient states that provide fading memory, nonlinearity, and high‐dimensional projection for simple readout. A descriptor‐to‐dynamics framework links

Development and user experience of a three-dimensional object-based virtual reality-simulation tool for dental radiography training: a randomized controlled trial

open access: yesBMC Medical Education
Background In dental radiography education, students typically observe instructor demonstrations and practice on mannequins or peers. However, owing to the large student-to-instructor ratio, providing individualized feedback is challenging.

A Virtual Repository of Learning Objects to Support Literacy of SEN Children

open access: yesIEEE Revista Iberoamericana de Tecnologias del Aprendizaje, 2015
Literacy development is an essential process for special education needs children. Otherwise, they will have additional difficulties in their daily life activities and hence their social inclusion. It is a big challenge for parents and teachers, but it is easier if the process begins since childhood.
