Multi‐omics biomarkers for intestinal infection and inflammation in inflammatory bowel disease: Current evidence, translational challenges, and diagnostic opportunities

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Prospective multi‐site cohorts, multi‐omics profiling, and computational analysis may help identify biomarker patterns across clinical settings in IBD and superimposed infections. With further mechanistic and clinical validation, these signals could support the development of practical multi‐analyte tools for more precise diagnosis and management ...

Evaluation of reactive Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) in Iranian patient with different subtypes of multiple sclerosis (MS)

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Infectious Diseases, 2013
OBJECTIVES: Epstein-Barr virus has been recently associated with the onset of multiple sclerosis, yet understanding how it elicits autoimmunity remains elusive.

Investigation of environmental virus-host interactions: chlorpyrifos effects on Epstein-Barr virus and B-lymphocyte replication [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a ubiquitous human herpesvirus that infects nearly 95% of the world’s population. EBV is closely associated with many diseases, most commonly with infectious mononucleosis, though the virus is also linked to different types of

Molecular Functions and Drug Prediction of MMP1 and TGFBR2 in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
MMP1 and TGFBR2 were validated by machine learning and external datasets as the candidate genes. Dexamethasone showed strong binding affinity to MMP1 (−7.72 kcal/mol) and TGFBR2 (−7.27 kcal/mol) in docking studies. Knockdown of MMP1 repressed the malignant phenotypes of NPC cells.

Epstein-Barr virus infection as a predisposing factor for multiple sclerosis. An update from molecular biology, immunology and epidemiology

open access: yesRevista de la Facultad de Medicina, 2019
Introduction: Epstein-Barr virus is an infectious agent used to immortalize and induce polyclonal activation of B cells. It has been widely described that this virus produces changes in the cells it infects and in the immune response, and stimulates the

Luteolin inhibits Epstein-Barr virus lytic reactivation by repressing the promoter activities of immediate-early genes

open access: yes, 2017
The lytic reactivation of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) has been reported to be strongly associated with several human diseases, including nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Inhibition of the EBV lytic cycle has been shown to be of great benefit in the treatment
