Herpes simplex virus type-1 latency inhibits dendritic growth in sympathetic neurons

open access: yesNeurobiology of Disease, 2006
Herpes simplex virus type-1 (HSV-1) initially infects mucoepithelial tissues of the orofacial region, the eye and to a lesser extent the genitalia. Subsequently, the virus is retrogradely transported through the axons of the sensory and sympathetic ...

Molecularly Engineered Phenoxazinone‐Skeleton Cascade‐Activated NIR Probes for Monitoring Fe2+/Viscosity in Ferroptosis‐Mediated Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A series of Fe2+/viscosity cascade‐activated NIR fluorescence probes (NP1–5) are synthesized, and NP3 is selected for its optimal properties. To verify application of NP3 in ferroptosis intervention in PD, PQR NPs, is constructed by NP3 and quercetin self‐assembling.

Recent Advances in the Study of Alphaherpesvirus Latency and Reactivation: Novel Guidance for the Design of Herpesvirus Live Vector Vaccines

open access: yesPathogens
Alphaherpesviruses, including herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1), herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2), and varicella-zoster virus (VZV), infect a diverse array of hosts, spanning both humans and animals.

Differential disease restriction of Moloney and Friend murine leukemia viruses by the mouse Rmcf gene is governed by the viral long terminal repeat. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
Neonatal CxD2 (Rmcfr) and Balb/c (Rmcfs) mice inoculated with Moloney murine leukemia virus (M-MuLV) exhibited approximately equivalent time course and pathology for disease.

Association Between Liver Function Grade and Post‐Hepatectomy Liver Failure in Patients With Hepatocellular Carcinoma: A Latent Class Analysis

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
We retrospectively analyzed clinical data from patients who underwent hepatectomy for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) using LCA‐based grading system. These findings provide a new risk stratification framework for the design of precision surgery to treat patients with HCC.

Interplay of Murine Gammaherpesvirus 68 with NF-kappaB Signaling of the Host

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2016
Herpesviruses establish a chronic infection in the host characterized by intervals of lytic replication, quiescent latency, and reactivation from latency.
