Evolutionary Dynamics of Giant Viruses and their Virophages [PDF]
Giant viruses contain large genomes, encode many proteins atypical for viruses, replicate in large viral factories, and tend to infect protists. The giant virus replication factories can in turn be infected by so called virophages, which are smaller viruses that negatively impact giant virus replication.

Virus evolution : the emergence of new ideas (and re-emergence of old ones) [PDF]
Reputed intractable, the question of the origin of viruses has long been neglected. In the modern literature 'Virus evolution' has come to refer to study more akin to population genetics, such as the world-wide scrutiny on new polymorphisms appearing daily in the H5N1 avian flu virus [1], than to the fundamental interrogation: where do viruses come ...

VirusPKT: A Search Tool For Assimilating Assorted Acquaintance For Viruses [PDF]
Viruses utilize various means to circumvent the immune detection in the biological systems. Several mathematical models have been investigated for the description of viral dynamics in the biological system of human and various other species. One common strategy for evasion and recognition of viruses is, through acquaintance in the systems by means of ...

In situ structure and organization of the influenza C virus surface glycoprotein
Influenza C virus contains a single surface glycoprotein, the haemagglutinin-esterase-fusion (HEF) protein, that mediates receptor binding, receptor destruction, and membrane fusion activities.
