Effects of velocity-slip and viscosity variation in hydrostatic step-seal [PDF]

open access: yesJurnal Tribologi, 2017
A generalized form of Reynolds equation for two symmetrical surfaces is taken by considering velocity-slip at the bearing surfaces. This equation is applied to study the effects of velocity-slip and viscosity variation in squeeze film lubrication of ...

Effect of power ultrasonic on the viscosity of anhydride epoxy resin system

open access: yesResults in Materials, 2020
The effect of power ultrasonic (US) on the viscosity of an anhydride epoxy resin system has been investigated. Especially, the potential reduction of the viscosity could be used prospectively for the production process pultrusion in the variation of ...

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Pengaruh Konsentrasi Surfaktan Non-Ionik Terhadap Viskositas Perekat Polivinil Asetat Berbasis Air

open access: yesKovalen: Jurnal Riset Kimia, 2020
Substrate combining could be done by using adhesive. In Indonesia, especially industrial field, solvent base adhesives were still being developed. This kind of adhesive was not environmental friendly and not safe handling.

Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Alumina: Effects of Scanning Strategies on External and Internal Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates how scanning strategies affect pure alumina in laser powder bed fusion. Linear 45° scanning yields uniform surfaces but high porosity, while the island‐concentric strategy provides higher density with through‐holes favorable for infiltration. Findings highlight pathways toward optimizing defect‐free alumina parts.

Variational approach to the volume viscosity of fluids

open access: yesPhysics of Fluids, 2006
The variational principle of Hamilton is applied to develop an analytical formulation to describe the volume viscosity in fluids. The procedure described here differs from those used in the past in that a dissipative process is represented by the chemical affinity and progress variable (sometimes called “order parameter”) of a reacting species.
