Visibility of structured and unstructured images*
Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1973We define a grain modulation transfer function (MTF) using unstructured grain images. This MTF is found to be similar in shape to the sine-wave MTF, but about 1/25 as sensitive. The higher sensitivity of the one-dimensional sine-wave grating is due to its highly structured pattern.

Visible Watermarking for Halftone Images
IEICE Transactions on Fundamentals of Electronics, Communications and Computer Sciences, 2007This letter proposes a visible watermarking scheme for halftone images. It exploits HVS filtering to transform the image in binary domain into continuous-tone domain for watermark embedding. Then a codeword search operation converts the watermarked continuous-tone image into binary domain.

Visible snapshot imaging spectro-polarimeter
SPIE Proceedings, 2005We present the first visible-spectrum snapshot imaging spectro-polarimeter based on a Computed Tomographic Imaging Spectrometer (CTIS). Improvements to our calibration methods have provided advances in the CTIS spectral resolution and in noise suppression which obstructed previous attempts to construct such an instrument.

Today many systems exist to generate geometric models of existing scenes and objects. However, very few systems store accurate data about surface appearance such as colors and textures. One way to capture surface texture data is to record a series of images that, collectively, captures all visible surfaces of the object.

Visibility of uncorrelated image noise
SPIE Proceedings, 2010In this study, we evaluated the effect that pixel size has upon people's preferences for images. We used multispectral images of faces as the scene data and simulated the response from sensors with different pixel size while the other sensor parameters were kept constant.

Whole visible range imaging ellipsometry
SPIE Proceedings, 2007The ellipsometric image contrast for patterned film in whole visible range is simulated and analyzed in this article. By the Fresnel equation and the Jones Matrix, the characteristic wavelength selection method to enhance the image contrast is built. The ellipsometric reflected intensity of specific thin film is nulled into dark by rotating the phase ...

Adaptive visible watermarking of images
Proceedings IEEE International Conference on Multimedia Computing and Systems, 2003Digital watermarks are emerging as a tool to provide copyright protection for high quality images and video. Though a lot of work has been done in the area of invisible watermarks, relatively less earlier work exists for visible watermarks. As a consensus on the various issues for invisible watermarks to be legally admissible eludes us, a visible ...

Images Visibility In Technical Drawing
Geometry & Graphics, 2017This publication is devoted to the definition of one of the graphics forms – technical drawing, its conventions, clarity, possible lack of visibility, and means of addressing them. The concept of "technical drawing" is defined ambiguously by different authors in different textbooks.
