Prenatal Brain Abnormalities in Sodium‐Dependent Multivitamin Transporter Deficiency

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In treatable neurometabolic disorders, early diagnosis and prompt initiation of treatment are key to improved survival and outcomes. Biallelic variants in SLC5A6 cause sodium‐dependent multivitamin transporter deficiency (OMIM # 618973), which is treatable with high‐dose pantothenic acid, biotin, and alpha lipoic acid.

Effect of imbalance in folate and vitamin B12 in maternal/parental diet on global methylation and regulatory miRNAs

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2019
DNA methylation, a central component of the epigenetic network is altered in response to nutritional influences. In one-carbon cycle, folate acts as a one-carbon carrier and vitamin B12 acts as co-factor for the enzyme methionine synthase.

Cistanche tubulosa improves peripheral neuropathy in MPTP‐induced PD mice based on regulation of m6A methylation

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
At steady state, DRG ensures low‐level expression of TH+ neurons under the protection of AKT. However, the DRG level of PD mouse model under MPTP toxicity increased significantly, and the expression of IL‐6 and CASP3 increased. This process was accompanied by the occurrence of m6A demethylation, with a significant increase in FTO as the main ...
