Preparation of vitamin B-12-free serum for the use in vitamin B-12 radioassays
Clinica Chimica Acta, 1979In radioassays for serum vitamin B-12, the separation of free and bound vitamin is usually made with charcoal absorption. The specificity of this separation depends on the amount of charcoal and the protein content and constitution of the medium. The large difference in protein concentration between the samples for the dilution curve and the serum ...

Serial measurements of vitamin B-12 and vitamin B-12-binding capacity in marasmic kwashiorkor
Clinica Chimica Acta, 1975Vitamin B-12 and total vitamin B-12-binding capacity (TBBC) have been determined by a radio-saturation assay in the blood of a large group of patients suffering from marasmic kwashiorkor on admission, and during their whole re-feeding. The results have been compared with values obtained in control children of the same ethnic group and with normal ...

[Vitamin B 12-(cyanocobalamin)-allergy].
Der Hautarzt; Zeitschrift fur Dermatologie, Venerologie, und verwandte Gebiete, 1978A case of vitamin B12 allergy is reported. Typical eczematous and exanthematic skin lesions appeared after long-term and high-dosed intake of a vitamin B12 drug (Biovital). Patch tests with vitamin B12 were positive. This observation of vitamin B12 allergy we compared with previous published cases.

A type of acne induced by vitamin B-12 deserves a special place among acneiform eruptions. The eruption is monomorphic and of a particular type. It consists of voluminous folliculitis lesions which develop acutely after the first injections of vitamin B-12 and disappear rapidly when treatment is discontinued.
