ABSTRACT In July 2021, desert rose plants were consistently observed with symptoms of brown spots on the leaves, which coalesced and promoted leaf fall. The causal agent of the disease was unknown. This study aimed to identify the pathogen responsible for the symptoms through morphological and molecular characterisation, as well as pathogenicity tests.

Landscape‐scale woodland restoration and expansion in upland habitats can boost moth species richness, abundance and diversity. Restoration, which creates young woodlands, also led to increased diversity of moth communities. Abstract Afforestation of native woodland is a globally important political target with potential to meet biodiversity and ...

The apple susceptibility‐related LRR‐RLK MdRLKT21 competitively binds to fungal sRNA effectors and subsequently activates defenses by salvaging the expression of MdRLKT1 and MdRLKT2 and thereby releasing the resistance protein MdRFP1. These findings provide new insights into the molecular mechanism by which plants counteract pathogen‐secreted sRNA ...

ABSTRACT Yeasts belonging to the genus Rhodotorula are capable of synthesizing carotenoids, such as β‐carotene, γ‐carotene, torulene, torularodine, and astaxanthin. These carotenoids have been shown to offer health benefits to humans, such as immune system strengthening and a reduced risk of chronic degenerative diseases.
