Vitrification of In vitro-matured Oocytes: Effects of meiotic spindle morphology on clinical outcome

open access: yesReproductive and Developmental Medicine, 2020
Objective: The meiotic spindle controls chromosome movement and mediates various functions essential for fertilization and early postfertilization events. This study aimed to examine whether vitrification causes meiotic damage in vitro- matured metaphase

Development of Cryopreservation Techniques for Gorgonian (Junceella juncea) Oocytes through Vitrification. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Gorgonian corals are slowly declining due to human interaction and environmental impacts. Cryopreservation of gorgonian corals is an ex-situ method of conservation, ensuring future reproduction.

Collagen‐Based Gut‐on‐Chip for In Vitro Modeling of Intestinal Barrier Function and Host‐Pathogen Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A collagen‐based gut‐on‐chip model replicates the intestinal extracellular matrix, supporting villi‐like structures, tight junctions, and mucin production. This biomimetic platform enables rapid epithelial differentiation and functional barrier formation.

Harnessing Phase Separation for the Development of High‐Performance Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hydrogels are indispensable for the development of next‐generation bioelectronics, soft robotics, and biomedical devices, where their mechanical properties determine performance and reliability. Among strategies to enhance hydrogel mechanics, phase separation enables controlled heterogeneity resulting in gel networks that are reinforced by ...

Understanding the Catalytic Determinant role of Diaphorase‐Like Subunit in Formate Dehydrogenases via Redox Couples

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A unique mechanism of catalytic bias regulated by diaphorase‐like subunit in formate dehydrogenase from Rhodobacter aestuarii is revealed. The diaphorase‐like subunit functions act as a biological “voltage rheostat” that controls the slow release of NADH to regulate redox balance, biasing the enzyme's catalytic preference toward CO2 reduction over ...

Vitrification affects the post-implantation development of mouse embryos by inducing DNA damage and epigenetic modifications

open access: yesClinical Epigenetics
Vitrification is widely used in assisted reproductive technology (ART) for female infertility, but the long-term effect on the embryo of vitrification has not been comprehensively studied.

Fertility preservation in pig using ovarian tissues by vitrification method

open access: yesJournal of Animal Reproduction and Biotechnology, 2022
Cryopreservation of porcine ovarian tissue by vitrification method is a promising approach to preserve genetic materials for future use. However, information is not enough and technology still remains in a challenge stage in pig. Therefore, the objective

Entropy Decoding the Fundamental Law of Phase Competition in Glass Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We validate the integration of intermetallic and eutectic phases as initial phases for composition design. The phase competition mechanism in glass formation is quantitatively clarified based on the melting entropy of competing phases. Glass‐forming ability is modulated by tuning phase competition via the melting entropy of initial phases.

Intrinsic Dual‐Phase Regulated GeSe2 Nanoparticles Triggered by Ball‐Milling Treatment for Photonic Multi‐Valued Logic Circuits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report the solid‐state ball milling, a traditional, reliable, mass‐productive material processing, to prepare the air‐stable and dual‐phase GeSe2‐x nanoparticles with extended photodetection feasibility toward optical‐wavelength regions. We further display photonic multi‐valued logic (MVL) circuit through the employment of a hybrid PMMA/GeSe2‐x ...

Spermidine Supplementation Effectively Improves the Quality of Mouse Oocytes After Vitrification Freezing

open access: yesAntioxidants
The cryopreservation of oocytes through vitrification is imperative for the conservation of livestock germplasm resources. However, as oocytes exhibit significant oxidative stress and organelle damage following vitrification freezing, it is crucial to ...
