Shorted turn effects in rotary voice coil actuators
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1996The response of a voice coil motor (VCM) with a moving shorted turn is examined in both the frequency and time domains. The shorted turn modifies the low frequency behavior of both the impedance and the transfer function between coil current and VCM torque; the voltage to VCM torque transfer function is minimally affected.

Ironless voice coil actuator used for active magnetic gravity compensator
2016 International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion (SPEEDAM), 2016In this paper, we analyse a moving-magnet type ironless voice coil actuator that can be used as active gravity compensator. Gauss numerical integral is employed to solve the force-position relationship. Based on it, the travel region of the moving magnet in which the voice coil actuator has the spring effect has been determined.
