Cardioprotection with volatile anesthetics: clinical relevance
PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Increasing experimental evidence is indicating that volatile anesthetic agents may exert direct cardioprotective effects. They have been shown to directly precondition or indirectly enhance ischemic preconditioning.
