A novel immuno‐piezoelectric transducer is innovatively developed. This device promotes neural stem cell (NSC) differentiation and maturation via ultrasound‐induced electrical stimulation and it amplifies the therapeutic efficacy of NSC in traumatic brain injury (TBI) by modulating the immune microenvironment. This piezoelectric transducer with “immune‐

A solvent‐free mechanochemical reduction of nitro compounds using hydrogen gas is presented. In addition to enabling the synthesis of a variety of functionalized aniline derivatives, the method has been scaled up to gram quantities, evaluated for trace metal impurities, and applied to the synthesis of pharmaceutical compounds and their precursors.

Background Patients at risk of malignant hyperthermia need trigger-free anesthesia. Therefore, anesthesia machines prepared for safe use in predisposed patients should be free of volatile anesthetics. The washout time depends on the composition of rubber

Sanggenol L, a flavonoid from mulberry, enhances glioblastoma sensitivity to temozolomide by inhibiting mitophagy and inducing apoptosis through TRIM16‐mediated OPTN degradation. In animal studies, liposomal delivery of Sanggenol L significantly improves the efficacy of its combination with TMZ, providing new insights into glioblastoma treatment ...

Cardiac arrest in a child during a combined general epidural anesthesia procedure [PDF]
An increased risk of perioperative cardiac arrest in children, in comparison to adults, has been recognized. A number of factors associated with perioperative cardiac arrest have been identified, including young age, comorbidities, and emergency ...

NEAT1 Promotes Epileptogenesis in Tuberous Sclerosis Complex
The primary neurological manifestations of tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) are intractable epilepsy and intellectual disability. NEAT1 is differentially expressed in TSC‐related epilepsy and influences neuronal excitability by regulating the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway.

Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury and Volatile Anesthetics [PDF]
Ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) is induced as a result of reentry of the blood and oxygen to ischemic tissue. Antioxidant and some other drugs have protective effect on IRI. In many surgeries and clinical conditions IRI is counteract inevitable. Some anesthetic agents may have a protective role in this procedure.

Phase transitions in biological membranes
Native membranes of biological cells display melting transitions of their lipids at a temperature of 10-20 degrees below body temperature. Such transitions can be observed in various bacterial cells, in nerves, in cancer cells, but also in lung ...
