Chemical Engineering &Technology, Volume 46, Issue 1, Page 147-157, January 2023., 2023 A computational fluid dynamics cavitation model for vapor and gas cavitation in hydraulic oil is presented, parameterized, and validated. For numerous operating points, cavitation in a realistic valve geometry is visualized using shadowgraphs and high‐speed cameras. Vapor and gas cavitation are experimentally separated by complete degassing of the oil.
