Integrative Multi‐Omics Analysis Reveals a Mitochondrial–Immune Axis Associated With Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy Response in High‐Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integrative multi‐omics analysis delineates a mitochondrial–immune axis governing neoadjuvant chemotherapy response in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer. Immune‐active tumors exhibit enhanced B‐cell infiltration and favorable sensitivity, whereas metabolically rewired tumors display oxidative phosphorylation dependency and resistance.

Astrocytic Phenotypic Switching in Posterior Piriform Cortex Orchestrates Bone Cancer Pain–Depression Comorbidity via Purinergic–Noradrenergic Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bone cancer pain and depression share a common origin: astrocytic A2‐to‐A1 transition in the posterior piriform cortex. This phenotypic shift disrupts the ATP–adenosine–A2AR–norepinephrine axis, simultaneously driving nociceptive and affective dysfunction.

TME/NIR Dual‐Responsive Zinc‐Based Targeted Nanoagonist for Multimodal Amplification of STING‐Mediated Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional nanoagonist (cDZ@IP) enables nano‐metabolite–driven multimodal activation of the STING pathway and enhanced immune recognition, achieving potent antitumor immunity and suppressing tumor growth and metastasis. This strategy highlights the rational design of therapeutic metabolites and establishes a new paradigm bridging nanomedicine ...

Use of changes in tropopause height to detect human influences on climate

open access: yesMeteorologische Zeitschrift, 2003
The height of the global-mean tropopause shows a steady increase since 1979 in re-analyses of numerical weather forecasts. This is in agreement with results from a climate model driven by natural and anthropogenic forcings.

BIN1 and ALDH1B1 Deficiency in Colonic Smooth Muscle Drives Mitochondrial Dysfunction and Fibrosis in Slow‐Transit Constipation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Slow‐transit constipation (STC) is a disabling motility disorder with unclear smooth‐muscle mechanisms. Spatial proteomic analysis of STC patient colon reveals both the central pathogenic role of smooth muscle cells (SMCs) in STC and novel regulators of intestinal motility, BIN1 and ALDH1B1.

Growing season temperatures in Europe and climate forcings over the past 1400 years.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2010
BackgroundThe lack of instrumental data before the mid-19th-century limits our understanding of present warming trends. In the absence of direct measurements, we used proxies that are natural or historical archives recording past climatic changes.

Epigenetic Silencing of RFX7 Defines a Transcriptional Axis Linking Lactate Metabolism to Immune Checkpoint Therapy in Glioblastoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) exhibits RFX7 silencing via promoter hypermethylation, which downregulates PIK3IP1 to activate PI3K/AKT signaling, increase lactate accumulation, and enhance histone H4K12 lactylation. This lactylation upregulates PD‐L1/CSF1 expression and drives the immunosuppressive microenvironment formation.

External and internal forcings controlled the precipitation patterns in eastern China over the past millennium

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science
The Asian Summer Monsoon provides critical water source to over a billion people. However, there is mounting evidence regarding how precipitation associated with the Asian Summer Monsoon varies spatially and temporally, prompting further exploration of ...

Cyclic Mechanical Loading of Cardiomyocytes via Pressure‐Driven Non‐Planar Membrane Deformation in a Bioreactor System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this research article, Mansoor and coworkers present a novel device that applies controlled mechanical stimuli to cardiomyocytes using pressure‐driven membrane deformation. By exposing cells to physiologically and pathologically relevant loading conditions, the platform reproduces distinct structural, functional and molecular responses associated ...

Oral Motion‐Powered Smart Dental Implant Abutment for In Situ Antibacterial and Cell Adhesion Through Piezoelectric Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We proposed a method based on the piezoelectric effect and fabricated an implant abutment on the basis of piezoelectric ceramic. Under physiological occlusal pressure, the oral motion‐powered smart dental implant abutments interacted with water and oxygen, promoting the formation of reactive oxygen species and achieving a synergistic and highly ...
