Petrology and Geochemistry of Intrusive Rocks in the Tanjung Area, South Sulawesi, Indonesia: Implications for Magma Origin, Source Materials, and Geodynamic Setting

open access: yesIraqi Geological Journal
The origin of magma, source materials, and geodynamic setting of plutonic and volcanic rocks was elucidated by studying the characteristics of the rocks in the Tanjung area, South Sulawesi, Indonesia.

The analysis of volcanic activity influences at the lower and middle part of Sentolo Formation, Kulon Progo using petrographic method

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
The research area is a part of South Serayu Mountain zone, specifically Bregada Kulon Progo. The Bregada Kulon Progo is a product of volcanic activity in the past, which can be seen by the volcanic rock called Old Andesite Formation.

Elevated Apolipoprotein E Expression in Hippocampal Microglia Drives Temporal Lobe Epilepsy Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In temporal lobe epilepsy, hippocampal APOE is markedly upregulated predominantly in microglia. APOE overexpression in microglia drives TLR4 and cGAS/STING‐dependent neuroinflammation, engages bidirectional crosstalk with neurons and astrocytes, increases neuronal excitability, and perturbs hippocampal lipid metabolism. These findings suggest that APOE‐

Lithofacies and reservoir characteristics of Permian volcanic rocks in the Sichuan Basin

open access: yesNatural Gas Industry B, 2019
In order to provide basis for further exploration and deployment of volcanic gas reservoirs in the Sichuan Basin, we classified Permian volcanic rocks in this basin using drilling, mud logging, assay, logging and seismic data comprehensively.

Depth‐Dependence Changes in Soil Stoichiometry in China's Croplands Over the Past Four Decades

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals depth‐dependent changes in soil C:N:P ratios across Chinese croplands over four decades. Changes in stoichiometry vary markedly between topsoil and subsoil, with initial soil C:N:P ratios playing a key role in determining their trajectories.

Characterizing a complex buildup in the Pearl River Mouth Basin of the northern South China Sea: an interplay of carbonates and igneous rocks

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science
Volcanic mounds and carbonate buildups share similar geometries, making their differentiation in seismic data a significant challenge. This challenge is further compounded in complex buildups composed of both multi-stage developed igneous rocks and ...

Single‐Cell Dissection of the Biological Function and Molecular Features Underlying the Micropeptide LSMEM1 in Kidney

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
LSMEM1, an evolutionarily conserved micropeptide with extreme hydrophobicity (aliphatic index═113) and dynamic amphiphilicity (GRAVY═0.017), features a strong α‐helical transmembrane anchor (residues 64‐86). Single‐cell analysis reveals its critical role in renal lipid homeostasis.

Comparative study on volcanic hydrocarbon accumulations in western and eastern China and its significance

open access: yesPetroleum Exploration and Development, 2009
Volcanic hydrocarbon accumulations in eastern and western China have both generality and discrepancy. The common features are as follows: their source-reservoir-caprock association is a near-source type; their reservoir properties are little affected by ...

Homocysteine Exacerbates Pulmonary Fibrosis via Orchestrating Syntaxin 17 Homocysteinylation of Alveolar Type II Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study identifies elevated homocysteine (Hcy) levels in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis patients' samples, with alveolar type 2 cells as the primary site of Hcy metabolism. Methionine synthase reductase downregulation in these cells exacerbates fibrosis, while folate administration reduces Hcy levels and alleviates fibrosis.

Targeting ROCK2 to Restore Epileptic Synaptic Networks via Mitophagy Activation: Insights from Translational Imaging of SV2A In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By integrating synaptic vesicle glycoprotein 2A PET imaging and transcriptomics, this study identifies Rho‐associated protein kinase 2 (ROCK2) as a critical regulator of synaptic network dysfunction in temporal lobe epilepsy. Pharmacological ROCK2 inhibition restores synaptic density and enhances mitophagy, thereby reducing seizures and neuronal damage.
