Low-voltage CMOS switch for high-speed rail-to-rail sampling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Sampling switches have a dominant role in switched-capacitor circuits and analog-to-digital convertors. Since they act as input gates, their nonlinearities directly degrade the quality of the input signals.

Comparison of DC linear and non-linear models for multi-terminal VSC HVDC networks

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
The analysis and control design of multi-terminal VSC-HVDC systems requires a linearised model of these inherently non-linear systems. This paper develops such a model, from converter to multi-terminal system, discusses the key concepts and shows its use

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Development of a Multi-bus, Multi-source Reconfigurable Stirling Radioisotope Power System Test Bed [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has typically used Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generators (RTG) as their source of electric power for deep space missions.

Transient stability analysis of virtual synchronous generator with current saturation by multiple Lyapunov functions method

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution
This paper demonstrates that the switching of one grid‐connected virtual synchronous generator (VSG) between two control modes, namely constant voltage control (CVC) and current limiting control (CLC) happens at the derived two switching lines.

Self-organising technique for carrier synchronisation and phase offset distribution in modular, fault-tolerant converters

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Carrier interleaved pulse width modulated modular multilevel converters provide multiple benefits including increased effective switching frequency, switching frequency harmonic elimination, and reduced filter requirements. For converters comprising high

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

A portable measurement system for subcriticality measurements by the Cf-source-driven neutron noise analysis method [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
A portable measurement system consisting of a personal computer used as a Fourier analyzer and three detection channels (with associated electronics that provide the signals to analog-to-digital (A/D) convertors) has been assembled to measure ...

New techniques for high-frequency RMS-to-DC conversion based on a multifunctional V-to-I convertor [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
Two bipolar RMS-DC convertor circuits of the computing type which require no rectifier function are discussed. Improved frequency response is thus obtained. RMS-to-DC computation is carried out in the current domain.

Grid integration and a power quality assessment of a wave-energy park

open access: yesIET Smart Grid, 2019
This study presents a step toward the grid connection of a wave-energy park through an electric power conversion system (EPCS) developed and installed for the wave-energy harvesting in Lysekil, Sweden.
