Presystemic influences on thirst, salt appetite, and vasopressin secretion in the hypovolemic rat [PDF]
Recent studies have shown that when dehydrated rats are given access to water or various concentrations of saline solution, they consume the same volume of fluid in an initial drinking bout (Hoffmann et al., 2006). Furthermore, there was a close relation

Approximate controllability of Lagrangian trajectories of the 3D Navier-Stokes system by a finite-dimensional force [PDF]
In the Eulerian approach, the motion of an incompressible fluid is usually described by the velocity field which is given by the Navier--Stokes system. The velocity field generates a flow in the space of volume-preserving diffeomorphisms.

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Solar heat driven water circulation and aeration system for aquaculture [PDF]
The proposed design concept of water aeration and updraft circulation in aquaculture is based on the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) technology and uses a solar energy absorbed by a floating collector.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

A Coupled Artificial Compressibility Method for Free Surface Flows
Modeling free surface flows in a CFD context typically requires an incompressible approach along with a formulation to account for the air–water interface.

Limits of structure stability of simple liquids revealed by study of relative fluctuations
We analyse the inverse reduced fluctuations (inverse ratio of relative volume fluctuation to its value in the hypothetical case where the substance acts an ideal gas for the same temperature-volume parameters) for simple liquids from experimental ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...
