Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Investigating the Effect of Free Surface on Hydrodynamic Performance of Propeller
Simulation of the flow around propeller is a complex fluid flow problem, especially when the propeller is close to free surface. In this study, the effect of different depths on the performance and efficiency of a B-Wageningen series close to surface of ...

A full Eulerian finite difference approach for solving fluid-structure coupling problems
A new simulation method for solving fluid-structure coupling problems has been developed. All the basic equations are numerically solved on a fixed Cartesian grid using a finite difference scheme. A volume-of-fluid formulation (Hirt and Nichols (1981, J.

A momentum-conserving, consistent, Volume-of-Fluid method for incompressible flow on staggered grids [PDF]
The computation of flows with large density contrasts is notoriously difficult. To alleviate the difficulty we consider a consistent mass and momentum-conserving discretization of the Navier-Stokes equation.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Numerical Simulation of Wave Interaction with Oscillating Water Column in One Dimension
Oscillating water column (OWC) is one of the wave energy converting devices available. In this article, a numerical model has been introduced to simulate wave interaction with OWC in one dimensional plane.

Experimental Validation of Volume of Fluid Method for a Sluice Gate Flow
Laboratory experiments are conducted for 2D turbulent free surface flow which interacts with a vertical sluice gate. The velocity field, on the centerline of the channel flow upstream of the gate is measured using the particle image velocimetry technique.

Sedimentation of finite-size spheres in quiescent and turbulent environments
Sedimentation of a dispersed solid phase is widely encountered in applications and environmental flows, yet little is known about the behavior of finite-size particles in homogeneous isotropic turbulence.

Simulation of Sloshing with the Volume of Fluid Method
This paper opens a new horizon on the simulation of sloshing phenomena. One of the most popular Finite Volume methods called VOF (Volume Of Fluid) method is used for tracking the flow in containers. The algorithm is tested for different fluid elevations, physical conditions in different road curves and liquid properties.
