Thermodynamics of markets [PDF]
We consider the thermodynamic approach to the description of economic systems and processes. The first and second laws of thermodynamics as applied to economic systems are derived and analyzed. It is shown that there is a deep analogy between the parameters of thermodynamic and economic systems (markets); in particular, each thermodynamic parameter can

Optimizing entropy bounds for macroscopic systems
The universal bound on specific entropy was originally inferred from black hole thermodynamics. We here show from classical thermodynamics alone that for a system at fixed volume or fixed pressure, the ratio of entropy to nonrelativistic energy has a ...

Additive manufacturing of magnesium alloys by laser is difficult because the melting point of the oxide layer is much higher than the evaporation temperature of the metal underneath. Making the oxide layer thinner can solve this problem. Alloying magnesium with strontium makes the oxide layer thinner, especially at 0.5 wt%.

Geometry of AdS black hole thermodynamics in extended phase space
We consider the geometry of anti-de-Sitter (AdS) black hole thermodynamics in four dimensions, where the equation of state in the extended phase space formalism allows explicit comparison with normal fluid systems.

Dynamics and Thermodynamics of (2+1)-Dimensional Evolving Lorentzian Wormhole
In this paper we study the relationship between the Einstein field equations for the (2+1)-dimensional evolving wormhole and the first law of thermodynamics.

Impact of Iron Contamination on Liquid Properties and Microstructural Evolution in AlSi20
Recycled aluminum is much more energy conservative and sustainable than primary aluminum. However, the iron contamination in secondary aluminum is vastly responsible for the degradation of the material properties. Herein, it is aimed to evaluate the influence of iron contamination in hypereutectic Al–Si alloy through thermodynamic as well as ...

Thermodynamical Relations in Function Space [PDF]
We formulate thermodynamical relations based on the field degrees of freedom by introducing a work induced by the volume change in the function space, in addition to the usual work associated with the spatial volume change. The first and second laws of thermodynamics are defined for such a work inherent to the field theory by generalizing stochastic ...

Clausius versus Sackur-Tetrode entropies [PDF]
Based on the property of extensivity (mathematically, homogeneity of first degree), we derive in a mathematically consistent manner the explicit expressions of the chemical potential $\mu$ and the Clausius entropy $S$ for the case of monoatomic ideal ...

Hybrid materials enable high‐performance components but are challenging to process. This study explores an inductive heating concept with spray cooling for steel–aluminum specimens in a two‐step process including friction welding and cup backward extrusion.
