Entropy and Area in Loop Quantum Gravity [PDF]
Black hole thermodynamics suggests that the maximum entropy that can be contained in a region of space is proportional to the area enclosing it rather than its volume.

Bimodalities : a survey of experimental data and models [PDF]
Bimodal distributions of some chosen variables measured in nuclear collisions were recently proposed as a non ambiguous signature of a first order phase transition in nuclei.

The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

We emphasize that the pressure related work appearing in a general relativistic first law of thermodynamics should involve {\em proper volume element} rather than coordinate volume element.

Structure and thermodynamics of a mixture of patchy and spherical colloids: a multi-body association theory with complete reference fluid information [PDF]
A mixture of solvent particles with short-range, directional interactions and solute particles with short-range, isotropic interactions that can bond multiple times is of fundamental interest in understanding liquids and colloidal mixtures.

What Do Large Language Models Know About Materials?
If large language models (LLMs) are to be used inside the material discovery and engineering process, they must be benchmarked for the accurateness of intrinsic material knowledge. The current work introduces 1) a reasoning process through the processing–structure–property–performance chain and 2) a tool for benchmarking knowledge of LLMs concerning ...

Three Views of a Secret in Relativistic Thermodynamics
It has been shown three different views in relativistic thermodynamics can be derived from the basic formulation proposed by van Kampen and Israel. The way to decompose energy-momentum into the reversible and irreversible parts is not uniquely determined,

Entropy bounds for uncollapsed matter [PDF]
In any static spacetime the quasilocal Tolman mass contained within a volume can be reduced to a Gauss-like surface integral involving the flux of a suitably defined generalized surface gravity.

This article provides an overview of recent advancements in bulk processing of rare‐earth‐free hard magnetic materials. It also addresses related simulation approaches at different scales. The research on rare‐earth‐free magnetic materials has increased significantly in recent years, driven by supply chain issues, environmental and social concerns, and

Role of repulsive interactions in the interplay with missing strange resonances
The standard implementation of the HRG model has been shown to be unable to describe all the available data on QCD matter. Here we show the balance of repulsive and attractive hadronic interactions on QCD thermodynamics through observables both ...
