Analysis of model rotor blade pressures during parallel interaction with twin vortices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This paper presents and provides analysis of unsteady surface pressures measured on a model rotor blade as the blade experienced near parallel blade vortex interaction with a twin vortex system.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

High-order mixed vortex beam generator

open access: yesOptics Express, 2023
A mixed multi-order vortex beam generator, based on a Reuleaux triangle core fiber chiral grating (RCFG), is proposed. The triangular perturbation and off-axis effects induced by core shape, result in the simultaneous coupling of the core mode with the 1st- and 3rd-order vortex modes.

Digital twins to accelerate target identification and drug development for immune‐mediated disorders

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Digital twins integrate patient‐derived molecular and clinical data into personalised computational models that simulate disease mechanisms. They enable rapid identification and validation of therapeutic targets, prediction of drug responses, and prioritisation of candidate interventions.

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

Performa Termal dan Hidrolik Aliran Udara Melalui Vortex Generator Berlubang Tipe Concave Rectangular Winglet di dalam Saluran Persegiempat: Studi Eksperimen

open access: yesRekayasa Mesin, 2020
Fin and tube heat exchangers use gas as a cooling/heating medium on the fin side. The low thermal conductivity of gases results in high thermal resistance, which results in a low rate of heat transfer.

Applications of Group Analysis to the Three-Dimensional Equations of Fluids with Internal Inertia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Group classification of the three-dimensional equations describing flows of fluids with internal inertia, where the potential function $W= W(\rho,\dot{\rho})$, is presented.

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

On the estimation of swimming and flying forces from wake measurements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The transfer of momentum from an animal to fluid in its wake is fundamental to many swimming and flying modes of locomotion. Hence, properties of the wake are commonly studied in experiments to infer the magnitude and direction of locomotive forces ...
