Neighborhood Approximations for Non-Linear Voter Models

open access: yesEntropy, 2015
Non-linear voter models assume that the opinion of an agent depends on the opinions of its neighbors in a non-linear manner. This allows for voting rules different from majority voting. While the linear voter model is known to reach consensus, non-linear

Judgment Aggregation Rules and Voting Rules [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Several recent articles have defined and studied judgment aggregation rules based on some minimization principle. Although some of them are defined by analogy with some voting rules, the exact connection between these rules and voting rules is not always obvious.

Power theories for multi-choice organizations and political rules: Rank-order equivalence

open access: yesOperations Research Perspectives, 2014
Voting power theories measure the ability of voters to influence the outcome of an election under a given voting rule. In general, each theory gives a different evaluation of power, raising the question of their appropriateness, and calling for the need ...

Combining Voting Rules Together [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We propose a simple method for combining together voting rules that performs a run-off between the different winners of each voting rule. We prove that this combinator has several good properties.

Digital Microneedles for Multiplexed Transdermal Sensing via Fluorescent QR Codes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Digital fluorescent microneedles encode biochemical information in skin into scannable QR codes through threshold‐activated probes that generate binary on/off signals. By transforming analog fluorescence into discrete digital patterns, this platform enables calibration‐free, multiplexed transdermal sensing of physiologically relevant biomarkers ...

Improving the Robustness of Visual Teach‐and‐Repeat Navigation Using Drift Error Correction and Event‐Based Vision for Low‐Light Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.
