Supply passive networks with VSC-HVDC
2001 Power Engineering Society Summer Meeting. Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.01CH37262), 2001In this paper, the steady-state model of the VSC-HVDC (voltage source converter based HVDC) system supplying a passive network has been developed. According to this model, the control strategy is presented. At the same time, the AC filter is designed based on analyzing the spectrum of the AC voltage generated by the VSC.

Performance analysis of paralleled VSC-HVDC systems
2016 International Conference on Microelectronics, Computing and Communications (MicroCom), 2016This paper presents a detailed study of the VSC-HVDC system along with the related cases of paralleling two similar VSC-HVDC systems. A basic VSC-HVDC system is designed with controllers on either side of the system. The system is further expanded by connecting a similar VSC-HVDC system in parallel for enhancing the reliability.

Multi-level voltage reinjection VSC HVDC transmission
8th IEE International Conference on AC and DC Power Transmission (ACDC 2006), 2006The structure and control of a new voltage source based HVDC transmission link are described. The link uses multi-level voltage reinjection converters. It offers some advantages over PWM-VSC transmission in terms of switching efficiency and valve ratings, while providing similar levels of voltage and current waveform quality.

Dynamic modeling of a VSC-HVDC converter
2013 48th International Universities' Power Engineering Conference (UPEC), 2013The aim of this paper is to present a nonlinear dynamic model for Voltage Source Converter-based HVDC (VSC-HVDC) links that can be used for dynamic studies. It includes the main physical elements and is controlled by PI controllers with antiwindup. A linear control model is derived for efficient tuning of the controllers of the nonlinear dynamic model.
