ABSTRACT Microtubules are noncovalent polymers assembled from α/β tubulin dimers. Their structure, dynamics and interaction with effectors are regulated through the expression of diverse tubulin isotypes and chemically diverse posttranslational modifications, also known as the “tubulin code.” Understanding the biophysical correlates between tubulin ...

Implementation of guideline‐recommended medical therapy for patients with heart failure in Europe
Abstract Physicians' adherence to guideline‐recommended heart failure (HF) treatment remains suboptimal, especially regarding the target doses. In particular, there is evidence that non‐cardiologists are less compliant with HF guideline recommendations. This is likely to have a detrimental impact on patients' survival, readmissions and quality of life.

How to Measure Specific Deposit Washout and Backwash Efficiency of Granular Filters
Practical experience shows that water treatment filters develop problems over time due to the routine running of the filter, including backwashing. There are difficulties in maintaining filters in good condition, given the eutrophic state of many South African raw waters, high water temperatures and the development of difficult-to-remove biofilm as a ...

Biomass‐derived hydrochars as eco‐friendly adsorbents for wastewater treatment applications
Abstract Emerging organic pollutants (EOPs), such as diethyl phthalate (DEP), bisphenol A (BPA), and methylene blue (MB), are only partially removed in conventional wastewater treatment plants. This study assesses hydrochars produced by hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) of spruce bark (SB), vine shoots (VSs), and wheat straw (WSs) for removing three ...
