Hydrophobic Deep Eutectic Solvent (DES) Design Enables Optimally Hydrated DES‐in‐Water Electrolytes for High‐Performance Bromine Redox‐Enhanced Energy Storage Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Faradaic charging with bromine redox chemistry shows promise for energy storage, yet its efficient use in aqueous electrolytes is hindered by water decomposition and polybromides' cross‐diffusion, leading to suboptimal cell performance. This study introduces a tetrabutylammonium bromide‐based hydrated deep eutectic electrolyte with optimized water ...

Sequential recruitment of body fluid spaces for increasing volumes of crystalloid fluid

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology
IntroductionThe interstitial space harbours two fluid compartments linked serially to the plasma. This study explores conditions that lead to fluid accumulation in the most secluded compartment, termed the “third space”.MethodsRetrospective data was ...

Hyperbranched Interpenetrating Hydrogen Bond Network (HIHBN) Proton Exchange Membrane for Fuel Cells Above 220 °C

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel polymer electrolyte membrane with a hyperbranched interpenetrating hydrogen bond network structure is developed. The unique structure of the hyperbranched polymer contributes to a high glass transition temperature exceeding 400 °C, enabling its operation at elevated temperatures for fuel cell applications.

EFFECT OF WATER AND SALINE LOAD ON URINARY OUTPUT IN HEALTHY UNDERGRADUATE MEDICAL STUDENTS

open access: yesJournal of Nepal Medical Association, 2003
Water and electrolyte balance is a vital homeostatic function. Their excretion depends on various factors – state of hydration, plasma osmolarity etc. There are rare reports on effect of hypertonic solution on urinary output.

The Electromagnetic Balance Game: A Probabilistic Perspective [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Finding a counterfeit coin with the different weight from a set of visually identical coin using a balance, usually a two-armed balance, known as the balance question, is an intersting and inspiring question. Its variants involve diversified toolkits including information theory, coding theory, optimization, probabilistic theory, combinatorics and a ...
