Water vapour sorption on mudrocks

Geological Society, London, Special Publications, 2017
Abstract High-resolution water sorption isotherms were measured on 13 representative mudrock samples in order to assess the mechanisms of water vapour sorption and their relationship to the pore structure of mudrocks. The isotherm measurements were performed at 303 K on a gravimetric, dynamic vapour sorption device.

Polysiloxane dizwitterionomers. III. Water sorption

Journal of Polymer Science: Polymer Chemistry Edition, 1979
AbstractThe interaction of water with the various polysiloxane dizwitterionomers and the model compound 4,7‐diazaheptyl‐4,7‐di(3‐propane‐sulfonate) heptamethyltrisiloxane was studied. The model compound is soluble in water but the polymers swell inhomogeneously when soaked in water.

Sorption of Water by Rubber

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry, 1938
Abstract THE presence of water is one of the principal causes of electrical instability in dielectric materials, often resulting in large variations in direct current resistance, dielectric constant, and power factor. A knowledge of the laws governing the sorption of water is therefore of considerable interest to the electrical and ...

Selective Phosphate Removal from Water and Wastewater using Sorption: Process Fundamentals and Removal Mechanisms.

Environmental Science and Technology, 2019
Eutrophication of water bodies is a serious and widespread environmental problem. Achieving low levels of phosphate concentration to prevent eutrophication is one of the important goals of the wastewater engineering and surface water management.

Simultaneous generation of atmospheric water and electricity using a hygroscopic aerogel with fast sorption kinetics

, 2020
Sorption-based atmospheric water harvesting (AWH) is a promising technology to produce clean potable water in arid areas with scarce freshwater resources. However, most sorbents developed for this technology can only perform one cycle of water production

Water sorption by human cells

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - General Subjects, 1978
Water sorption by powdered human callus was studied using a vacuum microbalance, X-ray powder diffraction and NMR relaxation. The sorption data were fitted to theoretical isotherms. At high relative vapour pressures an increase in the monolayer value was found which is probably related to the swelling of the material.

The sorption of water by rubber

Journal of Polymer Science, 1956
AbstractAn equation is derived from the consideration of an osmotic mechanism of absorption to represent the absorption–time relationship for a vulcanized rubber immersed in water. The dependence of absorption equilibrium on the relative humidity is also expressed quantitatively.

Water sorption of several bonding resins.

American journal of dentistry, 2000
Purposes: To determine, over the period of 1 month, (a) the degree of water sorption, and (b) the change in dimension, of four bonding resins and one low viscosity resin. Materials and Methods: Six specimens of bonding resin (Prisma Universal Bond 3, All-Bond 2, Bondwell LC, and LB Bond from the Clearfil Liner Bond II system) and a low viscosity resin (

Water Sorption Properties of Extruded Zein Films

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2004
Water interactions in extruded zein films were investigated through moisture sorption isotherms. Sorption isotherms of zein products were affected by composition and structure morphology. Zein powder showed moisture sorption hysteresis, which was not observed in extruded samples.
