EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Humic Acid Transport in Water-Saturated Porous Media

open access: yes, 2010
The presence of humic acid (HA) in water poses environmental problems because it enhances the transport of several contaminants. A series of column experiments was conducted toward studying HA transport in different porous media under various pH, ionic ...

Assessment of risks of occurrence and consequences of oil spill in the area of the Cheboksary river port

open access: yesRUDN Journal of Ecology and Life Safety, 2019
Due to the significant number of oil spill incidents, spill forecasting plays an important role in developing plans for their prevention and response. In this article, the authors propose an analysis of the risk of oil pollution from ships in the region ...

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Functional magnetic resonance microscopy of long- and short-distance water transport in trees

open access: yes, 2009
Due to their long life span, changing climatic conditions are of particular importance for trees. Climate changes will affect the water balance, which can become an important limiting factor for photosynthesis and growth. Long-distance water transport in

Experimental investigation into the influence of calcium aluminate cement on the micro- and macro-mechanical properties of the interfacial transition zone in geopolymer concrete

open access: yesDevelopments in the Built Environment
This study aimed to analyze the properties of the interfacial transition zone (ITZ) in fly ash geopolymer concrete (FAGC) containing various concentrations of calcium aluminate cement (CAC) (5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%).

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Predicting water transport in multilayer coatings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Water transport in polymer coatings is a key process in their failure. Mostly, such systems are composed of multiple layers to meet the required specifications.
