Insect Conservation and Diversity, EarlyView.Multispecies occupancy models indicated that the occurrence of bumble bees was associated with local floral resources as well as the landscape surrounding a site within 1.6 km. Estimated species richness was greater at sites with more forest cover and lower at sites with more corn and soybean agriculture in the surrounding landscape.

Roadside pollinator populations and the negative impact of intensive roadside vegetation maintenance
Insect Conservation and Diversity, EarlyView.Less intensively managed roadsides had higher numbers of flower flies and bees; bee diversity was also higher in those roadsides. Community composition was similar across both management types, indicating that roadsides support a fairly homogeneous pollinator community, regardless of management.
