ANALYSIS OF THE FUNCTION RELATIONS BETWEEN THE DEPTH OF GAP OR SLOT AND THE SPEED OF VIBRATION IN MILLISECOND MULTIPLE-ROW HOLES BLASTING [PDF]
In order to analyze the attenuation law of blasting vibration wave through the damping groove, and to explore the function relations between the damping groove depth and damping effect of affiliation; the discussion about the blast hole millisecond ...

Braginskii magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) provides a more accurate description of many plasma environments than classical MHD since it actively treats the stress tensor using a closure derived from physical principles.

Perturbing the Critically Damped Wave Equation [PDF]
The work concerns the decay rate for the linear damped wave equation \[ u_{ tt}- \Delta u+2a(x)u_t=0 \tag{1} \] on an open bounded connected set \(\Omega\subset \mathbb{R}^d\). Setting \(v(t)=[u,u_t]\) one can interpret (1) as \(v_t=A(a)v\), where \[ A(a)= \left( \begin{matrix} 0 & 1 \\ \Delta & -2a \end{matrix} \right), \quad {\mathcal D} (A)= \bigl(H^

The role of viscoelastic foundation on flexural gravity wave blocking in shallow water
A hydroelastic model is developed to study the interaction of linear long gravity waves with a very large floating flexible plate resting on a viscoelastic foundation, which is based on the Kelvin–Voigt model.

Semilinear structural damped waves [PDF]
We study the Cauchy problem for the semilinear structural damped wave equation with source term urn:x-wiley:01704214:media:mma2913:mma2913-math-0001with σ ∈ (0,1] in space dimension n ≥ 2 and with a positive constant μ. We are interested in the influence of σ on the critical exponent pcrit in | f(u) | ≈ | u | p.

Summary Absorptions are worked out for S waves of different periods, based on the constants found for the modified Lomnitz law. It seems likely that the small amplitudes about distance 10° require absorption at small depths to be much stronger than the average for the shell.

Simulations of moving effect of coastal vegetation on tsunami damping [PDF]
A coupled wave–vegetation simulation is presented for the moving effect of the coastal vegetation on tsunami wave height damping. The problem is idealized by solitary wave propagation on a group of emergent cylinders.

The damped wave equation with unbounded damping
We analyze new phenomena arising in linear damped wave equations on unbounded domains when the damping is allowed to become unbounded at infinity. We prove the generation of a contraction semigroup, study the relation between the spectra of the semigroup generator and the associated quadratic operator function, the convergence of non-real eigenvalues ...
