Non‐Volatile Phase Modulation with Ultralow Energy Consumption Enabled by 2D Ferroelectric/TMD Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 13, 3 March 2026.
We demonstrate a hybrid WS2/CuInP2S6/graphene heterostructure integrated on a silicon nitride microring resonator for non‐volatile optical phase modulation with ultra‐low energy consumption and low insertion loss. While CIPS alone does not provide efficient optical index modulation, the engineered proposed device structure converts ferroelctric domain ...

Integrated Ultrasound Device for Precision Bladder Volume Monitoring via Acoustic Focusing and Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 17, 23 March 2026.
We present a conformable wearable ultrasound patch for noninvasive bladder volume monitoring. A flexible PZT array combined with a concave acoustic lens concentrates acoustic energy and improves depth selectivity through the anterior pelvic wall.

Programming Next‐Generation Synthetic Biosensors by Genetic Circuit Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 14, 9 March 2026.
Synthetic biology enables genetic circuit‐based biosensing to detect diverse targets, process signals, and transduce them into readable outputs or intracellular regulatory activities. However, field deployment and real‐world application of such synthetic biosensors face considerable challenges in sensitivity, specificity, speed, stability, and ...

Measuring blood–brain barrier dysfunction: a critical appraisal of fluid biomarkers, in vitro models, in vivo imaging, and post‐mortem approaches

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract The blood–brain barrier (BBB) maintains central nervous system homeostasis by regulating molecular exchange between blood and brain. BBB dysfunction is associated with aging and neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, stroke, and multiple sclerosis.

Enhancement of Modulation Bandwidth for VLC Utilizing Green Mini‐LED Light Source

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, Volume 5, Issue 3, March 2026.
This paper investigates three sizes of green Mini‐LEDs for visible light communication, focusing on modulation bandwidth and the impact of atomic layer deposition (ALD) sidewall passivation. ALD significantly enhances bandwidth (up to 21.6%), confirming suppression of nonradiative recombination.
