γ-Aminobutyric acid (GABA) regulates plant tolerance to abiotic stresses; however, a transcriptomic change and key stress-related genes induced by GABA have not been investigated in plants during a prolonged period of salt stress.

A new species of Ceroplastes from Florida (Hemiptera: Coccoidea: Coccidae) [PDF]
Previous literature recognized twenty species of wax scales occurring in the Neartic region with nine of those occurring in Florida. This number has grown recently with the establishment of the Ceroplastes rusci and the discovery of C.

Thermal Properties of Powders [PDF]
This paper presents measurements of the specific heats of various powders, including nylon, ABS, PVC, and two kinds of wax. An unsteady-state conduction technique is also presented for measuring the thermal conductivities of these powders at ...

Preventing and removing wax deposition inside vertical wells: a review
Wax deposition is one of the most challenging flow assurance issues in oil production processes. The related problems span from reservoirs to refineries, but their consequences can be particularly challenging when the affected area is difficult to reach,

The Caenorhabditis elegans DPF‐3 and human DPP4 have tripeptidyl peptidase activity
The dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) family comprises serine proteases classically defined by their ability to remove dipeptides from the N‐termini of substrates, a feature that gave the family its name. Here, we report the discovery of a previously unrecognized tripeptidyl peptidase activity in DPPIV family members from two different species.

Impact of Concave and Convex Solid Surfaces By Liquid-Like Projectiles
A theoretical and experimental investigation of the normal impact of a flat-ended liquid slug onto ductile cylindrical solid targets is presented. The liquid slug is simulated by wax which is known to behave as a liquid in high speed impact situations ...

Transfer of Sulfamethazine from Contaminated Beeswax to Honey [PDF]
A liquid chromatographic tandem mass spectrometric method for the determination of sulfa drugs in beeswax was developed. When performing residue control on beeswax intended for the fabrication of wax foundations, residues of sulfonamides were found.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.
