Weak Bernoullicity of random walk in random scenery

open access: yesJapanese journal of mathematics. New series, 2003
Summary: We consider an arbitrary irreducible random walk and an arbitrary stationary and ergodic random scenery on \(\mathbb{Z}^d\). We find conditions on their distributions such that the associated random walk in random scenery is or is not weak Bernoulli.

Universality aspects of the d=3 random-bond Blume-Capel model

open access: yes, 2012
The effects of bond randomness on the universality aspects of the simple cubic lattice ferromagnetic Blume-Capel model are discussed. The system is studied numerically in both its first- and second-order phase transition regimes by a comprehensive finite-

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

A general product measurability theorem with applications to variational inequalities

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2016
This work establishes the existence of measurable weak solutions to evolution problems with randomness by proving and applying a novel theorem on product measurability of limits of sequences of functions.

Enhanced stability method for offshore islanded wind-PV-battery microgrid based on capacitor voltage feedforward

open access: yesZhongguo Jianchuan Yanjiu
ObjectivesAs the capacity of independent wind-photovoltaic (PV)-battery microgrid systems on offshore platforms is small, and the intermittent power generation of new energy and load surge (bilateral randomness) have a significant impact on the stable ...

Randomness-driven quantum phase transition in bond-alternating Haldane chain

open access: yes, 2005
The effect of bond randomness on the spin-gapped ground state of the spin-1 bond-alternating antiferromagnetic Heisenberg chain is discussed. By using the loop cluster quantum Monte Carlo method, we investigate the stability of topological order in terms

Weak Convergence for Reversible Random Walks in a Random Environment

open access: yesThe Annals of Probability, 1993
A general framework for obtaining central limit theorems for random walks in a random environment is described by \textit{S. M. Kozlov} [Russ. Math. Surv. 40, No. 2, 73-145 (1985); translation from Usp. Mat. Nauk 40, No. 2(242), 61-120 (1985; Zbl 0592.60054)]. In this paper the two-dimensional case is considered.

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Numerical evidence for strong randomness scaling at a superfluid-insulator transition of one-dimensional bosons

open access: yes, 2013
We present numerical evidence from Monte Carlo simulations that the superfluid-insulator quantum phase transition of interacting bosons subject to strong disorder in one dimension is controlled by the strong-randomness critical point.

Inverting weak random operators [PDF]

open access: yesRandom Operators and Stochastic Equations, 2019
Abstract We analyze two weak random operators, initially motivated from processes in random environment. At first glance, these operators are ill-defined, but using bilinear forms, one can deal with them in a rigorous way. This point of view can be found, for instance, in [A. V. Skorohod, Random Linear Operators, Math. Appl. (Sov. Ser.
